hwd permission post
Jan. 28th, 2012 04:22 pmSince John is very old, and as such very powerful, I figured a permissions post was in order. I'm going to post the questions along with a brief summary of what each entails first, both for my own edification and so those that aren't familiar with canon have some idea what's going on, and then I'll put a text box at the bottom that you can just copy and paste to fill out.
Oh, and err, if you could reply separately with each of your character's journals, I'd love you forever. I know it's a pain in the ass, but ... it leads to a lot less "Did I mention [insert character here]?" for you and less "Did she mean [insert character here] or someone else?" for me. Plus, it'll help me learn which journals correspond to which characters easier.
Anyway, here we go. I hope I don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.
Can John compel your character to do things s/he wouldn't otherwise do? Act like a chicken. Run away. Stand still. Whatever.
Can John tamper with your character's memory? I'm not talking about putting great big holes in someone's past -- that I'll ask you about directly, if/when it comes up, since it's not something John would do on a regular basis -- I'm talking more about making your character forget that s/he just saw John do something particularly inhuman or that he just nommed on them. He likes coming across as a harmless old man and he'd like to continue to do so.
Can John read your character's mind? This only pertains to surface thoughts unless John has had your character's blood, then he can read deeper.
Can John snack on your character? Self-explanatory, I think. Though bear in mind he wouldn't take enough to kill a character unless he was starving, and that it's a ... relatively pleasant experience, unless you're trying to get away.
